ANNUAL CAREER AND NETWORKING EVENT

FINDING A CAREER IN SPACE AND STEM

The Astronauts Memorial Foundation presents its Annual Career and Networking Event: Finding a Career in Space and STEM

This event formed in early 2022 when our friends in the space and technology industries expressed that they needed a way to build their workforce. In April 2022, “Diversity in STEM” was born - bringing in students from across Florida to The Center for Space Education, to learn from and be recruited by major aerospace and technology companies.

In 2022, this event reached 300 students in person and an audience of 1000, virtually. In 2023, the event will triple in size and will open up the event to all students (high school and college) regardless of the path they'd like to take - with a big focus on both academic and trade/apprenticeship tracks.

This event is open to students with ALL interests. A common misconception about the aerospace and technology industries is that one must be an engineer to land a career at Kennedy Space Center. Another misconception is that the aerospace and tech industries are on the look-out for “science people”. The reality is these industries need EVERYONE. Not only do aerospace and tech companies need engineers and scientists… but they journalists, communicators, administrative personnel, welders, pipe-fitters, plumbers, educators, doctors, biologists and more.
