Gene Tavares
joined AMF in 1996 as an Education Technology Specialist and was
promoted to Director of Education in 1997 and Vice President in
1999. Since his first assignment - to develop and teach a
program which trained retiring NASA engineers to work in the
K-12 school environment - Mr. Tavares has taught, and continues
to teach, all technology programs offered by AMF. His experience
includes management in the private sector and technology
instruction for middle school and college students. In addition
to his technical expertise and innovative presentation skills,
he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the
Florida State University, a Business Education certificate from
the University of Central Florida, and a Master of Science
degree in Educational Technology from Nova Southeastern
University.
Mr. Tavares is active at various technology conferences and
enjoys writing technology curriculum as well as learning new
technologies. As Vice President, Mr. Tavares is responsible for
the overall management and advancement of AMF’s Education
Department, which has developed a state and national following.
