Nick Witek

Nick Witek is President
and owner of W & J Construction Corporation in Rockledge, Florida.
He has spent the past
25 years in commercial construction in Florida. In addition to projects
for Brevard County, Harris Corporation, Northrup Grumman, Melbourne
International Airport, Catholic Diocese of Orlando, Canaveral Port
Authority, Brevard Community College, the cities of Rockledge and Cocoa,
W & J Construction has completed many high profile projects for Cape
Canaveral Air Force Station, NASA, Delaware North Parks Services and the
Astronauts Memorial Foundation. Some of his projects include working on
the Apollo Saturn V Exhibit, Rocket Garden Renovation, LD-39 Operations
Support Building, Launch Operations Control Center, The AMF Center for
Space Education and the Astronauts Memorial Space Mirror.
Prior to W&J
Construction, Witek worked in Advanced Programs for Martin Marrietta in
New Orleans and was there for the rollout of the first External Tank for
the Space Shuttle.
Before that, Nick
worked in International Space Programs for NASA at the Goddard Space
Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland from 1969 – 1979, his last position
there as Integration and Test manager for scientific spacecraft.
Mr. Witek was born and
educated in Pennsylvania, receiving his BS degree in Electronics from
the University of Scranton. Nick went on to earn an M.S.E.E. Electrical
Engineering degree from the Catholic University, Washington, DC
(National Science Foundation Fellowship).
Nick Witek has held a
Florida General Contractors License since 1983. He has served on the
Brevard County Contractor Licensing Board since 1997, and as its
Chairman since 1998. He is a founding board member of the Construction
Industry Advisory Board, Florida Tech (2001), and is the Chairman of the
Scholarship and Intern Committee. He served as Vice President of
Associated Builders and Contractors 1994-1995. He has been a member of
both the Space Coast Early Intervention Center Board and the Cocoa
Rotary Club since 2003.
